Below in the attached description the most commonly used climate supervision configurations are introduced.

One point climate monitoring - stationary

Hytherograph (thermometer and humidity meter) LB-701 with a reading panel LB-705 (equipped with a an internal memory registering the measurement results) is most commonly used for climate supervision in one point. Hytherograph LB-701 has a small size plastic cylinder casing and because of it can be easily placed in the area controlled. It can be i.e. hanged above a meteorological post in a laboratory or placed in a climate chamber. Hytherograph is connected to the reading panel LB-705 by a cable 1 meter long. The length of the cable can be extended up to 15 meters without effecting the measurement accuracy because of the digital transmission between the hytherograph LB-701 an the attached to it reading panel.
The reading panel is adapted to be hanged on the on the wall (i.e. laboratory, climate chamber). Because of a big easy to read LCD screens the measurement results can be seen from a long distance.

In case when, the regulation functions are required at the measurement spot one should use a hytherograph LB-701 with a control reading panel LB-725.
The reading panel LB-705 (or a control reading panel LB-725) an be attached to any PC computer using its RS-232 (COM) port. The device is equipped with adequate software (for DOS and Windows 95/98 systems) allowing on current measurement monitoring as well as on reading of the measurement history from the device's memory (the following panels have memories LB-705PR i LB-725). The cable provided along with the device which connects it to a computer port RS-232 is typically 2 meters long and can be extended to approximately 20 meters. With greater distances (up to 200 meters) a separator series LB-300 should be used additionally. Only a hytherograph LB-701 (which can be easily disconnected from the reading panel) is passed along to a laboratory for calibration. In case when, the temperature measurement is required (without humidity) a probe LB-701T can be used for cooperation with the mentioned above panels. The probe is available in two versions: for the measurement of air temperature or for the measurement for various media according to the clinent's expectations.

One point climate monitoring -portable and transportable in cars

Devices used for temperature measurement were introduced in a separate leaflet.

The climate control can be performed at any location using a portable device LB-701 with panel LB-706 powered form a battery or from an additional outside feeder or from 12..24V source. The device has a built in screen and a memory for the measurement results as well as an interface which allows on transferring the measurement results to a PC computer and creating a protocol.

For control of the climate conditions in transport one can use the miniature temperature recorders LB-515 (without a display) and LB-520T (with a display) or a miniature humidity and temperature recorder LB-520 (with a display). All of those devices have big measurement result memories and are battery powered where it is sufficient for approximately 5 years (without the need of charging the batteries). Data reading starts when the recorders get attached to a PC computer. When using miniature recorders one can built one point as well as multi point stationary climate supervision system in situations where using the permanent cables would not be possible. Such miniature recorders are especially recommended in pharmacies, pharmaceutical and food warehouses.

The miniature temperature or humidity recorder EBI-A allows on registry in very hard work conditions (high temperatures and humidity, full liquid immersion) it can be used with food heat processing control (i.e. in autoclaves).

Climate monitoring - with measurement and alarm transmission through SMS messaging and GPRS

Climate control (temperature and humidity or 2 temperatures) can be performed using a portable device LB-707 in any location (cooperating with adequate sensors) powered from a battery or an outside voltage source or 12..24V source. The device has a display and a built in measurement results memory as well as an interface which allows on rewriting the measurement results to a PC computer and creating a measurement protocol. The device has a built in GSM modem for radio transmissionSMS/GPRS and because of it can be used in any place.

The meter is designed for climate parameter control in rooms, chambers and fridges as well as for monitoring the temperatures of solids and liquids (depending on the probe's construction). It can be used as a recorder in transport or a device which documents the processes of storing. The panel allows on parameter registry lasting many days with a possibility of later reading it where using the GPRS registry allows on following up to date the measurement results from every location where there is a GSM signal (i.e. car on the road). The device can supervise temperature and humidity and send warning communicates to mobile phones. The panel can also monitor the power supply status of other devices and send alarming messages about the lack of power supply.

Climate monitoring in many locations simultaneously - big systems

Concentrator LB-731 with attached hytherographs is most commonly used for simultaneous climate supervision in big systems in many locations (humidity meters and thermometers in numbers that are from 1 to 16 and depend on the system user's needs). The concentrator LB-731 is placed in a room of a person responsible for climate supervision usually it is near to a PC computer through which the measurement results' history reading is performed from a system. The hytherographs are placed in controlled rooms.
Depending on the user requirements various thermo hytherographs or thermometer versions are used:

Hytherographs (or thermometers) can be placed quite far away from the concentrator LB-731. They are connected to it using two conductors of a cable of any type. However it is important that the loop’s resistance of the connecting cables is lower than 100 ohm. In practice it means that when using a telephone cable (i.e. type YTKSY-1x2x0,5) the distance between a hytherograph and a concentrator LB-731 can amount up to 500 m. When a bigger distance is required cables of wider conductor of a cable diameter are used.

The concentrator LB-731 can be attached to any PC computer using its RS-232 (COM) port. The device is provided in a set with software allowing on current measurement monitoring and reading of the measurement history from the device’s memory. The cable provided along with the device connecting it with the computer port RS-232 is typically approximately 2 m long and can be extended up to 20 m. With bigger distances (up to 200 m) a separator series LB-300 should be used additionally.

The concentrator LB-731 can be attached with a signaling device alarm that focuses the service stuffs’ attention about the exceed of limit temperatures or/ and humidity in the monitored rooms. The alarm thresholds in a concentrator LB-731 are individually programmed for each hytherograph.

Sample solutions for big systems were discussed in detail in the description of the measurement system based on the concentrator LB-731.

The devices mentioned above create a base for system construction and their configuration was introduced in the description of the Measurement system based on the concentrator LB-731. Sample implementation was introduced in the description of the Warehouse System Monitoring (called later SMM), which supervises air temperature (and eventually humidity) in the monitored spaces and notifies automatically a user about any possible abnormalities. It is performed individually from the actual user’s place of stay – by a SMS (mobile phone) or via e-mail. The system also allows on storing information about the sensor status and measurement in database files to be read and processed later. The system can serve 16 concentrators LB-731 and each can be attached to 16 sensors LB-710 (it is possible to control 256 locations at the same time).

Only hytherographs LB-701 (easily disconnected from the reading panels) and hytherographs LB-710 are passed to a laboratory for calibration.

Climate monitoring in many locations simultaneously - small systems

Converter LB-486 is a device most commonly used for simultaneous climate supervision in few points of a small location. It is attached with hytherograph in a number required by the system user from one to four. The converter LB-486P is placed in a room of a person responsible for climate supervision usually near a PC computer which is used for reading the current measurement results and the measurement result history from the system (converter does not have its own screen displaying the measurement results). Hytheropgraphs are placed in the controlled rooms. Various hytheropgraph versions are used depending on the client’s needs just as it was introduced in the chapter: Simultaneous climate supervision in many points – big systems.

Additionally there is a possibility of attaching a converter LB-486 to a set of various measurement devices that work using a digital current loop (in abbreviation CCP such as LB-705, LB-710, LB-710T, LB-711, LB-715, LB-716, LB-716D,LB-720, LB-720C, LB-724, LB-725, LB-746) and a rain-gauge (i.e. ARG-100) what allows on creating measurement device configurations that are adequate to a user’s needs.

The converter LB-486 can be attached to any PC computer using its RS-232 COM port. The device is provided with software, which allows on current measurement monitoring and measurement history readings from the device’s memory. The device is provided with a cable that connects it with a computer port RS-232. And is typically 2 m long. However its length can be extended to approximately 20 m. With bigger distances (up to 200 m) additionally a separator series LB-300 should be used). When using an ethernet module there is a possibility of attaching the converter LB-486 and the attached to it measurement devices directly to the internet (intranet).

Air pressure measurement


In many cases air pressure measurement and registry of is required. In case of one port control a laboratory barometer LB-750 can be used. In case of small and big systems one can use a barometer LB-750 or its lower cost version LB-716. The measurement results can be monitored using a converter LB-486 or a concentrator LB-731. In case when the measurement of three parameters (air pressure, humidity and temperature) is required at the same time one can use a barometer hytherograph LB-701/LB-702B or LB-715.
