DESCRIPTION

Universal microprocessor regulator LB-600 was made with taking into account all of the requirements placed on the similar devices used in industrial automation. The following features compose its operational use:

  • module construction, possibility of simple reconfigurations,
  • applying reprogrammable, non-volatile memory type FLASH MEMORY as data memory for a program and a user,
  • wide scope of functions: mathematical, logical, time and regulation algorithms,
  • using conditioners type Sigma-Delta with 24 bit A/C processing for realization of the programmable analogue inputs,
  • program configuration flexibility (program choice of an input signal type, sensor damage signaling, auto-diagnosis etc.),
  • possibility of program regulation (program change in a set value in time function),
  • possibility of cooperation with the probes for temperature and humidity measurement produced by the LAB-EL company equipped with a digital current loop interface (i.e. LB-710),
  • structural programming (known by the users and simple in use),
  • possibility of series RS485 communication according to the transmission protocol MODBUS RTU, set series transmission parameters (other transmission protocols scheduled in the developmental works),
  • realization of a function of many variables such as arithmetical functions (extraction of roots, average, signal inversion, arithmetical operation with a constant etc.), logical functions, alarm functions and blocking etc.,
  • realization of approximately 30 regulation algorithms:
    • possibility of regulation realization with a set outside value (follow-up regulation),
    • possibility of regulation realization (cascade, relationship etc.),
    • possibility of INTEGRATOR function realization for the measurements of the mass flows,
    • possibility of function realization without percussive emergency BACKUP switch over,
    • possibility of FEED FORWARD function realization,
    • possibility of PID FUZZY LOGIC function realization,
    • self-tuning function realization (automatic selection of PID settings) in a work point:
      • possibility of choosing one out of three quality regulation criteria 2...5% readjustment 20% readjustment (minimum integral from a square regulation error or Ziegler-Nichols),
    • possibility of prediction algorithm regulation realization,
  • wide scope of power supply voltage due to using an impulse feeder,
  • voltage 24V / 500mA for powering the outside devices (i.e. the measurement converters etc.),
  • storage of process variables in a user memory,
  • possibility of choosing type of the analogue outputs: with 16 bit conversion,
  • galvanic optoseparation of input and output signals,
  • high reliability - production under quality system assurance control.

The Automation and Robotics Institute of the Warsaw Polytechnics organizes a cyclical course for the engineers and the measurements service workers and automatics with secondary technical education who should get aquatinted with operational service, programming and project usage of the microprocessor regulators series LB-600.

USAGE

The regulator LB-600 is a universal, programmable, digital regulator designed for the measurement systems, control and regulator of different technological processes. The regulator can realise the following functions:

  • classic PID regulator: 2 continuous regulation channels, 2 three-joint or 4 two-joint, 2 alarms - access to the rest of the measurement channels through a transmission connection,
  • 20 input measurement device with a possibility of continuous regulation in 2 channels + 2 alarms - access to the remaining measurement channels through a transmission connection,
  • 20 input measurement device with a possibility of three-joint regulation in 2 channels or two-joint in 4 channels, 2 alarms -access to the remaining measurement channels through a transmission connection,
  • 10 input measurement device, three-joint regulation in 4 channels or two-joint in 8 channels, 4 alarms - access to the remaining measurement channels through a transmission connection,
  • 10 analogue inputs, continuous regulation in 4 channels - access to the remaining measurement channels through a transmission line, controller realizing time-logical functions, abounding algorithms library including sequence, two analogue outputs for setting a program signal – access to all the parameters through a transmission connection,
  • 30 input measurement device - access to the measurement channels through a transmission connection,
  • 24 input and 18 output - binary controller realizing time-analogue functions, abounding algorithms library including sequence - access to all the parameters through a transmission connection,
  • three-joint regulator with an outside feedback (coupling from a location),
  • three-joint regulator with an internal feedback (step),
  • realization of a program regulation (change in a set value in time function),
  • realization of weather regulation based on the stored heat tables,
  • multi-output measurement device function realization,
  • standard signal measurement from the temperature sensors TC (R, S, B, J, K, E, N, T), Pt100, Ni100,
  • measurement of the standard electric signals current and/ or voltage,
  • measurement of the resistance signals (potentiometric),
  • temperatures and humidity measurement using the sensors equipped with a digital current loop interface  (i.e. LB-710),
  • logical and arithmetical functions on the measured analogue and binary values,
  • time functions (timers), generators,
  • logical functions (4 input gates, flip-flops, analogue gates, reverse counters etc.),
  • alarm functions (thresholds alarm values, logical states, time flow, attainments, stages etc.),
  • conditional blocking functions,
  • tracing signal functions with a redundancy realization,possibility of program choice of a signal and a sensor type,
  • sensor damage signaling,
  • possibility of scaling the inputs and the analogue outputs with a blocking function,
  • structure reprogramming from a supervisory system level,
  • autonomous output signal generation that control the executive devices.
